Jay Jaboneta

Jay Jaboneta was named by Yahoo! Southeast Asia last June 12, 2011 as one of the 7 Modern-Day Filipino Heroes for his involvement in the project Zamboanga Funds for Little Kids (which is now renamed as the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation).

He was also named by the Students & Campuses section of Manila Bulletin as one of the 10 Most Inspiring Filipinos for the Year 2011. His work with the project has been featured by Reader’s Digest Asia / Indonesia / India, Associated Press (AP), CNN, BusinessWeek, Forbes, The Huffington Post, ABS-CBN, GMA-7, TV-5, and a host of other international and Philippine-based news organizations.

Jay is also the Consultant on Social Innovation of the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, as well as a Consultant on Social Media Strategy & Marketing for some companies and nonprofits in the Philippines, the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Jay is also a regular speaker on social media, digital technology, and youth leadership. He spoke in TEDxMontpellier in France last January 20, 2012, and TEDxKinnaird in Pakistan last February 16, 2013. He also spoke in the Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations in New York last February 2014 and also at Facebook’s Sales and Marketing convention in San Francisco, USA in April 2014.

Jay is a hungry man. He eats at least a hundred books a year, loves chocolate, and sometimes can’t live without coffee. He has worked for organizations as diverse as the Office of the President of the Philippines, Procter & Gamble Philippines, and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd. (including Metrobank Card Corporation).

Jay believes remarkable people and organizations deserve the attention of the world.
