ACT Professors



Jose Jesus Roces or JJ Roces, has been involved in several local and multi-national private sectors and government organizations with major achievements in various fields such as marketing, public marketing, public relations and promotions, market research and development, as well as organization development and planning.

Currently, JJ Roces is the Managing Director of JAYROC Consulting and Quill Strategic Consultants Corp. and a core faculty of the Executive Education and Lifelong Learning Center (EXCELL) and the Program Director of EMBA-India II. Prior to this, he was head of Marketing for Araneta Properties Inc. He also worked for Rockwell Land Corporation, Ayala Land Inc, Tupperware Philippines, and Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation. He was also the Commissioner General of the World Expo Participation for the Philippines in Australia.

At present, JJ teaches at the Asian Institute of Management. He conducts Strategic Planning, Teambuilding, Marketing and Finance Programs, Human Resource, Sports, Coaching and Executive Coaching for Inspire.

Francisco M. Bernardo III

Francisco “Jay” Bernardo III graduated from De La Salle University with a B.S. in Industrial Management Engineering. He completed his MBA with Distinction at the Asian Institute of Management.

He started his own business and is the Chairman of JADGC Group of Companies received several awards such as; The 2004 Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of the World (Junior Chamber International), The 2003 Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines (TOYM) in the field of Entrepreneurship and the 2002 Agora Award for Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship (Marketing).

Felixberto Bustos Jr.

Felixberto Bustor Jr. is the current executive director of the Gov. Jose B Fernandez Jr. Center for Banking and Finance. He is also on the core faculty of the W.SyCip Graduate School of Business (WSGSB) and Executive Education and Lifelong Learning Center (EXCELL). He handles Risk Management and Asset Liability Arrangement modules in various finance related programs such as Finance for Senior Executives (FSE), the Course for Senior Bank Managers (CSNM) and the Asian Bankers Association – AIM Bank Management course.

He is the President of Asia Consultancy and Training Group Inc. (ACT Group), a consulting firm that houses all external consulting and training activities of AIM professors.

Herminio “Sonny” Coloma

Herminio Coloma is presently the Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office. Aside from this, he is also the Director of Loyola Plans Consolidated Inc, and is one of the most respected professors of AIM.

He previously worked with the Transitional Diversified Group, Department of Transportation and Communications, the Office of the President, and Far East Bank and Trust Company. He also writes a weekly column in Business World, one of the leading newspapers in the country.

He took Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of the Philippines. He received Masters in Business Management at the Asian Institute of Management, and Doctorate in Philosophy in Southeast Asian Inter-Disciplinary Development Institute of the Philippines.

Richard L. Cruz

Richard Cruz currently teaches accounting and financial management courses in the MBA program and several short programs of EXCELL or Executive Education and Lifelong Learning Center. He is also on the core faculty of W.SyCip Graduate School of Business (WSGSB). Prior to this he worked with Ayala Hotels Inc. as a Project Development Assistant. He also worked with Makati Business Club.

Richard took Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering at Ateneo de Manila University. He also holds a Master in Business Management (with Distinction) from the Asian Institute of Management.

Tomas B. Lopez Jr.

Tomas Lopez Jr. presently handles business and entrepreneurship seminars and programs for Inspire. He is on the core faculty of the Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE). He is the Don Demetrio Tuason Professor of Agribusiness. Apart from this, Tomas teaches marketing subjects in the other enterprise and development management courses of AIM. He is also the Institute Guru of Services Marketing and emerging field of one-to-one marketing. Prior to this he was a broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker.

Tomas specializes in several areas including social marketing, development communication, corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship, strategies management, and information technology. He is currently involved in hotel development as well as in other tourist-oriented ventures. Tomas is one of the co-founders and currently the director of Seair.

Federico Macaranas

Federico Macaranas has had careers in the fields of academe, business and the government.

In the private sector, he was the president of Clemente Holdings (Asia) Ltd. He also served as the senior adviser on direct investments and mutual funds and an economic adviser to The First Philippine Fund in New York. In the government, he served for the Department of Foreign affairs, where he helped formulate and implement the development diplomacy thrust of the government. He also served as an Undersecretary for economic affairs and worked as Chairman of the 1996 Senior Officials Meetings of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

In the field of education he started his career as an assistant professor and eventually became chairman of economics and finance department of the Manhattan College. He was granted the first Board of trustees award for excellence as a teacher/ scholar. He was also the former dean of the Center for Development Management and is a full time professor at AIM.

With his experience and credentials, he remains to be one of the most sought-after international lecturers and speakers on globalization, economics, and leadership.

Dr. Eduardo Morato Jr.

Dr. Eduardo Morato Jr. has been an educator since 1957. He introduced new degree and non-degree programs at AIM (Asian Institute of Management). He conceptualized and developed the Innovative Master in Entrepreneurship and the Master of Development Management. He also introduced majors in Finance Marketing and Entrepreneurship into the traditional MBA program, and redesigned the Master in Management into a business Leadership course for mid-career executives. He was also a member of the board of directorship and chairmanship of Assumption College.

He graduated as cum laude in Ateneo de Manila University for Bachelor of Arts major in Economics. He took Master in Business Management with High Distinction at AIM and Doctor in Public Administration at the University of the Philippines.

He has written 16 books, articles, monographs, and handbooks on several topics such as Self Mastery, Strategic Planning, and Leadership and Governance.

Dr. Ed is the chairman of ACE Center of Entrepreneurship and Management Education, President of ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation Inc., and Chairman of Bayan Academy for Social Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Development Inc.
